About the role
Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, improving equipment reliability and supporting others to succeed?
Kotzur is seeking a skilled Senior Maintenance Fitter to join our Maintenance team at Walla Walla, just 30 minutes from Albury.
Reporting to the Asset and Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our plant, machinery, facilities and infrastructure. This is a hands-on position combining advanced maintenance work with technical guidance and support for the broader maintenance team.
What you'll be doing

Complete planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant, machinery, equipment and facilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated system faults

Inspect, test, dismantle, repair, replace, assemble and adjust mechanical components and systems

Support installation, commissioning, modification and testing of machinery and equipment

Assist the Asset and Maintenance Manager with maintenance prioritisation, work coordination and parts identification

Provide practical guidance and technical support to Maintenance Fitters, apprentices and other team members

Accurately complete maintenance records, job sheets and maintenance documentation

Communicate maintenance activities, equipment status and operational impacts with production and other stakeholders

Identify and escalate risks, recurring faults, defects and improvement opportunities

Work in accordance with WHS requirements, isolation procedures, permits, SOPs and maintenance instructions

Participate in shutdowns, after-hours breakdown response and reasonable overtime when required

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, maintainability and safety.
What we're looking for

Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner, Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, or equivalent

Demonstrated maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial or similar environment

Advanced mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated systems

Strong understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance practices

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals and technical documentation

Experience supporting, coaching or providing technical guidance to other tradespeople
-
Strong planning, troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
