APPLICATIONS

A screw feeder is a specialised type of equipment that serves a number of purposes within a facility, and include:

• Enabling mass flow out of silos for difficult-to-handle materials
• Volumetric dosing
• Blending

When coupled with the Kotzur plane flow hopper, the design of Kotzur screw feeders incorporate best practice to ensure that silos are emptied under mass flow conditions. This is achieved by increasing the capacity of the screw along its length, to ensure that the entire silo outlet is activated.

The design of the flighting and central shaft of the screw(s) is engineered to prevent logging – where the material ‘sticks’ to the screw and cannot convey. Materials of construction include mild steel with a hot-dip galvanised casing, and full stainless construction. Other materials and finishes are available on request. Like all Kotzur material handling equipment, blocked chute sensors are available to assist in monitoring your facility.
