Ray Kotzur started Modern Engineering and Construction Co Pty Ltd. in a small shed in the rural town of Walla Walla, New South Wales. In its early days it served the local farming community building sheds, manufacturing gates and supplying general engineering services.
The first Kotzur transportable grain silo was produced.
The company ceased other manufacturing to focus solely on silos.
After 3 years of design and manufacturing upgrades, the first Kotzur gas-sealed transportable silo was built.
The company purchased the silo and water tank division of ANI Arnall. Relocating the business to Walla Walla. (ANI-Arnall were manufacturing the original “Lysaght” silos).
First Kotzur on-ground silo was constructed. Kotzur designed a new range of built on site to meet the new Australian Standards for silo design and also to be reliable for gas sealing fumigation.
Andrew and Michelle Kotzur become second generation owners of the Kotzur companies.
Toowoomba based “Downfields Engineering” becomes part of the Kotzur Group Companies.
New Kotzur Offices inaugurated in Walla Walla NSW.
Bulk Handling Awards. Qube Bulk Award for Bulk Handling Facility of the Year (Resources and infrastructure).
“Downfields Engineering” is rebranded to Kotzur Bulk Solids Handling.
Kotzur acquired the rights to all intellectual property owned by the Bendigo based entity B. Keogh & Sons Manufacturing Pty Ltd.
Kotzur was awarded with the 'Excellence in Business' award organised by Business NSW (Murray-Riverina region).
