The Kotzur Group of companies, Toowoomba Qld, is an Australian market leader in the provision of grain and bulk storage and handling solutions.  

We require a Mechanical Estimator or recent Graduate to join our team onsite in the modern Toowoomba office.

This is a broad role reviewing scopes of work, plans, specification and contracts, preparing cost analysis and estimations for projects, and assisting senior estimators with cost reports and final quote submissions. 

You will have a strong client focus and communication skills being a key contact for team members, contractors, suppliers and both existing and prospective clients in preparing existing and potential clients quotes.

You will require an ability to work to deadlines to ensure request for quote timelines are upheld and tasks are managed from conception through to completion. Your skills, enthusiasm, and energy will strongly contribute to the continued growth of the Kotzur Group.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Estimating and quoting of mechanical equipment required for projects and clients

  • Ensure the cost effectiveness of equipment and timely delivery to clients

  • Contribute to the development of bulk storage and handling concepts meeting client needs

  • Establish effective relationships across personnel to achieve an effective work environment

  • Assist with contract negotiations with third parties including suppliers, customers, consultants and contractors

  • Demonstrate an ongoing focus on improving the quality, cost, margin and timeliness of projects

  • Develop and maintain current costings of standard listed products

  • Liaise with engineering and manufacturing to ensure costs of designs, manufacturing and installation are kept within budget

Skills and Experience:

  • You may be an experienced Estimator or recent mech engineering Graduate

  • This role requires an understanding of steel fabrication estimation

  • Exposure to CAD (not essential)

  • Microsoft Office suite (with a focus on excel), and other advanced computer skills

  • Min 2-3 years' experience, however we will consider recent mechanical engineering graduates

  • Strong work ethic and a high level of customer service focus

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral, with the ability to gain the trust of customers.
