Mechanical Engineering Design Draftsperson
KOTZUR GROUP is a market leading engineering/fabrication business with over 60 employees based in Toowoomba Qld and over 140 employees based in Walla Walla NSW. With clientele from all over Australia, we specialise in the provision of bulk solids storage and handling facilities for the agricultural, industrial and commercial sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking to add an experienced Mechanical Engineering Design Draftsperson to our team in Walla Walla NSW.
Predominantly using Inventor, VAULT, and AutoCAD, you will be developing detailed designs from concept designs.
You will be ensuring Kotzur Design Team office protocols are maintained, including overseeing maintenance of relevant records and documentation.
You will be working to support our Estimating, Manufacturing and Project Management teams.
Tasks include:
- Prepare drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
- Assist Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant
- Select tools and equipment
- Assemble and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
- Estimate material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
- Perform and directing field and laboratory tests
- Collect and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
- Organise and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
- Ensure that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
Skills/qualifications/experience:
- Autodesk Inventor and MS suite software experience is essential
- Experience in Vault, AutoCad and ERP business systems is desirable
- AQF Associate Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma in Engineering is essential
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering is desirable but not essential
