About the role
Kotzur Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Designer to join our team in Walla Walla (30 minute drive from Albury). You will be responsible for leading both internal and external projects within our Storage, Projects & Mechanical Team. Your tasks will span planning and scheduling, scope clarification, functional design, and end-to-end management of projects through the Kotzur Design Office. Projects will involve diverse customers from industries such as agricultural, commercial storage and handling, feedlots, mining, and plastics.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure adequate project scope detail is achieved at project handover.

  • Develop the design component of the project schedule and manage its progress.

  • Maintain key project documentation.

  • Develop high-level project layouts and civils from the project concept.

  • Produce detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support the manufacturing and installation of our products

  • Ensure design proposals adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices

  • Resolve issues and information gaps promptly.

  • Develop detailed designs for complex areas within projects.

  • As required, detail shop floor drawings for manufacture/execution, compliant with Kotzur Standards

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including production staff, sub-contractors, project managers, clients, and suppliers.

 What we're looking for

  • Trade qualification or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or equivalent. Professional certifications in AutoCAD/Inventor preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

  • Knowledge and application of Inventor, AutoCAD and Vault

  • Experience in managing project design from conception to completion

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods

  • Proficient understanding and application of drafting and detailing methods, populate BOMs, and check drawings

  • Exceptional ability to conceptualise and develop concepts, and manage project design to Australian and Kotzur standards.

  • Good understanding and ability to apply the concepts of Safety in Design.

  • Clear client focus, strong mechanical aptitude, and superior problem-solving and communication skills.
