Kotzur provide complete grain storage solutions. This project was undertaken as an extension to an existing facility enhancing productivity at the site by adding automated grain drying and fumigation ability. The upgrade was designed by our in-house design team utilising conveying and elevating equipment from the Kotzur owned Downfields Engineering company in Toowoomba.
Work at the facility added 2000 T of additional storage in 4 x 500 T large elevated gas tight sealed silos incorporating cooling aeration. These silos are principally used to store grain exiting the existing continuous flow dryer for drying corn sorghum and other grains.
The grain is conveyed to the silo via a bucket elevator and over silo drag conveyor with silo selection made with pneumatically operated slide gates. Once in the silo the heated grain is cooled using high flow aeration vented through ground operated remote sealing aeration vents.
The variable speed conveyor ensures that the relatively low output rates of the dryer can be accommodated whilst still receiving dry grain at harvest at traditional infeed rates.
Kotzur can assist you to upgrade your existing storage facility with planning advice, drafting and engineering services, project management and site construction.
