On September 29th 1940, 2 Avro Anson aircraft collided during training maneuvers. They became locked together. All except one of the pilots bailed out. The remaining pilot managed to successfully land both aircraft in a paddock behind Brocklesby.
The Brocklesby Focus Group and Brocklesby Community Inc. approached Kotzur with a plan to create a memorial of this historical event. On Sunday 11th October 2015 the community of Brocklesby and the surrounding areas got together for the official unveiling of the Avro Anson Memorial Silhouette, which is located on the wall of the Community Building.
Congratulations to all of those who were involved in the project and the unveiling event, it was a fantastic afternoon.
